The Fuzzy Logic Model for Machining Data Selection
摘要
The use of a machining data handbook for machining data selection is incompatible with the aim of the automation of the manufacturing system. The machining parameter selection can be done by developing a fuzzy logic model for the computerization of the machining data. The usual procedure to correlate material hardness and cutting speed based on the operator’s experience and intuition is not precise, and a proper relation between an input t(hardness) and an output (cutting velocity) can be attained by developing a fuzzy logic model. The present work shows the procedure to develop a fuzzy logic model for cutting parameter selection during the machining of pure titanium and titanium alloys by collecting the machining data from the ASM data handbook. Proper relationship between input hardness and output speed has been obtained in the present study by developing a fuzzy logic model for the prediction of output speed with respect to machining parameters. A linear fuzzy equation has been established with a good correlation between input material hardness and output speed for the prediction of speeds that are in conformity with the data available in the ASM data handbook.
