In Japan, a world prominent earthquake-ridden country, earthquakes have been inevitably regarded as the external events (so-called external initiating events) impacting nuclear power stations. In the meantime, the structural design described in Chapters 5 and 6 considered internal events (i.e., internally caused initiating events) taking place inside nuclear power stations. Efforts can be made to reduce the occurrence of events resulting from internal factors.

摘要

In Japan, a world prominent earthquake-ridden country, earthquakes have been inevitably regarded as the external events (so-called external initiating events) impacting nuclear power stations. In the meantime, the structural design described in Chapters 5 and 6 considered internal events (i.e., internally caused initiating events) taking place inside nuclear power stations. Efforts can be made to reduce the occurrence of events resulting from internal factors.
