This chapter describes primarily an essential design philosophy to assure the structural integrity of components used in the non-creep temperature range. The current design codes provide that the non-creep temperature range is below 375 °C for carbon steels and low-alloy steels and below 425 °C for austenitic stainless steels and nickel alloys.
