King Ping 平 of the Zhou Dynasty migrated eastward and located his capital in the area of Luoyang, Henan Province, the eastern capital during the period of the Western Zhou Dynasty. Throughout the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, the kings resided in the Luoyang area.
