Nonlinear Manipulation with X-Structures/Mechanisms

The X-structure/mechanism is not only a design unit for achieving nonlinear design, but also a very flexible tool to realize different diverse nonlinearities by applying special arrangement of springs or other elastic materials into each layer, within each joints, and/or more flexibly between X-structure and other external points/units/boundaries etc. In this chapter, some of these designs will be shown to demonstrate that this is a very good idea or a very rich source to explore various practical nonlinear design methods.
