The X-structure/mechanism approach has been studied in recent years for the purpose of passive employment of nonlinearity, which is extensively demanded in engineering systems for achieving advantageous performance with minimum implementation cost and complexity. Since nonlinearity is ubiquitous, working with it in a proactive and reciprocal way is the best philosophy.
