A desired stiffness or damping property is often critical for achieving excellent performance in many engineering systems. Mismatched stiffness or damping would lead to downgrade of system performance, prolonged excessive vibration, malfunction of machines, or even structural damage or unexpected disasters (Yu et al. 2002; Ibrahim 2008; Liu et al. 2015; Du et al. 2020).
