SAHMS: Smart Animal Health Monitoring System

In modern farming, the well-being of animals is crucial for sustainable and effective management. This paper presents a Smart Animal Health Monitoring System (SAHMS) that employs cutting-edge technology to monitor or observe the health of farm animals in real time. This system uses wearable sensors and the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) development board to collect vital health parameters such as body temperature, humidity, and heart rate from animals. The BLE development board acts as a central hub, collecting precise health data through its sensors. Once collected, this information is sent to the fog node. Fog node is like a bridge between local BLE devices or edge devices and the cloud. The fog node uploads the collected data to a cloud-based storage system. This cloud integration ensures that the gathered information is accessible from anywhere with an Internet connection. A mobile application, connected to the cloud, has been developed to display real-time animal health information. Additionally, an alert system has been integrated to notify users immediately in case of emergency.
