Design a COVID-19 Vaccination Status Verification System Using Face Recognition for Bangladesh

摘要

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this paper introduces a system to identify vaccinated peoples of Bangladesh. It integrates the National Identity Card (NID) System (NID database) with the SUROKKHA app, a vaccination management platform developed by ICT ministry of Bangladesh. The NID card is a mandatory ID for citizens aged eighteen and above, and the SUROKKHA app database has stored vaccination data. The system uses facial recognition to match images with NID records. After matching it retrieves the NID number, granting access to vaccination records on the SUROKKHA app. Local Binary Pattern (LBP) algorithm is used for facial matching. A string matching algorithm correlates the NID number, enabling smooth retrieval of vaccination history. The paper explains the process, including NID retrieval, facial matching, and data extraction. This approach streamlines vaccine verification and supports epidemic control efforts.
