DMEK Graft Preparation

Descemet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK) has become the leading procedure in corneal transplants. Replacing the recipient’s endothelium and Descemet’s membrane using the DMEK method can lead to smaller incisions, faster recovery, and better overall vision for the patient [1–17]. Throughout this section, we will go over the stripping process, complications, and subsequent solutions during the peel, evaluation post-process and considerations in selecting a DMEK suitable cornea.
