In recent years, AI-enabled aerial sensing has become an essential tool for defense and border protection agencies, employing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with sensors and AI algorithms along with IoT-connected devices to gather and analyze real-time data, particularly for monitoring border regions to detect illegal activities such as smuggling and unauthorized border crossings. This paper delves into the integration of aerial monitoring systems with artificial intelligence (AI) for defense and border protection addressing the need for efficient surveillance and security measures. Beyond border surveillance, AI-enhanced aerial sensing finds applications in military reconnaissance and surveillance missions, utilizing UAVs equipped with advanced sensors like infrared and high-resolution cameras to provide real-time data on enemy positions and movements, aiding commanders in informed decision-making.
