On Reception

Reception is an integral part of literary activity, as the value of a literary work can only be realized through appreciation. The work has universal effectiveness, and the purpose of literary writing is to seek a kindred spirit. Readers, based on a common emotional state, physiological foundation, and cultural background, can resonate with the author’s spirit to a certain extent. The strength of everyone’s sensory capacity, individual differences in taste, and variations among reader groups all affect each person’s experience. Appreciating literary works often requires extensive knowledge; many customs, folk sentiments, and linguistic characteristics can only be understood through a rich reading of works. Ancient poems and prose are meant to be chanted, with the modulation of voice expressing the emotions and their fluctuations.
