摘要

According to the investigation and statistics of earthquake damage, masonry structures have been found to suffer severe damage, highlighting the significance of addressing their seismic resilience issues. To investigate the influence of confining elements on the seismic resilience of multi-story masonry structures, this study employs the FEMA P-58 methodology and utilizes incremental dynamic analysis (IDA). The research is focused on examining the seismic resilience of masonry structures. Through a comparative analysis of key seismic resilience indicators such as repair costs, repair time, and human casualties between unreinforced masonry structures and confined masonry structures, the impact of confining components such as RC tie beams and tie columns on the seismic resilience of masonry structures is elucidated. The findings demonstrate that the incorporation of confining elements in masonry structures can effectively reduce the probability of structural failure and enhance their seismic resilience.
