A Study on Different Structural Systems Using Response Spectrum Analysis
摘要
With rising urban populations comes a greater need for tall buildings, which in turn calls for more cost- and performance-effective high-rise designs. Guidelines for selecting structural systems using dynamic analysis (Response Spectrum Analysis) was the primary motivation for this study. Using ETABS 2016, we modelled and analysed multi-story buildings with different structural systems. In order to model the dynamic reaction of the modelled structures, RSA was used. Extensive research was conducted on a variety of dynamic parameters including storey displacement, storey drift, storey stiffness, and overturning resistance. Based on the findings, recommended structural systems are provided for individual floors. For a building with 20 stories, the moment resisting system was found to be the best option among the five models tested, while the outer shear wall system, the moment resisting with bracing system, and the shear wall with bracing system were found to be the best options for buildings with 30, 40, and 50 stories, respectively.
