Research and Development of Auxiliary Tools for Network System Software Reliability Evaluation

Software reliability testing is an important measure to ensure software quality. This article investigates the process of developing an auxiliary tool for evaluating the reliability of network system software. Specifically, this tool is a fault injection management system consisting of two parts: a fault injection platform deployed on the injection machine and a platform fault agent configured on the target host. Users can remotely log in to the injection machine and use the interactive interface to inject multiple types, adjustable parameters, and mixed faults into the target host. In addition, the fault injection platform also has the function of querying the running status of the software. The platform fault agent configured on the target host can not only inject software faults but also monitor and manage the running status of the software. Finally, the reliability and effectiveness of the system were verified through experiments.
