Global Climate Finance Architecture: Institutional Development
摘要
Climate change poses a challenge for all countries globally. Consequently, climate finance inherently possesses an international dimension. Establishing a robust global climate finance architecture can facilitate technology transfer, knowledge exchange, and financial support flows to assist developing countries in addressing climate change. This chapter discusses the fundamental principles underpinning the development of a global climate finance architecture. It examines the evolution of climate finance mechanisms derived from successive global climate negotiation conferences, alongside an exploration of the current global climate finance architecture, encompassing multilateral, bilateral, and national/regional mechanisms. This chapter seeks to underscore the significance and challenges associated with multilateral, North–South, and public–private cooperation. It is important to note that the global climate finance architecture is an ongoing process of refinement and development, necessitating an acknowledgment of the international climate finance system from a dynamic and evolving perspective.
