Deliberative Communication in Bulgaria: Risks and Opportunities
摘要
The article has been developed within the framework of the research project “Critical study of media-related risks and opportunities for deliberative communication: scenarios for the European media landscape” (MEDIADELCOM) under the EU program “Horizon 2020”. Based on the methodology applied by the 14 participating countries in this project, the risks and opportunities for deliberative communication that arose in the process of media transformation in the period 2000–2020 are assessed. The article focuses on the results of the work of the Bulgarian team in four areas: legal and ethical regulation, journalism, media consumption patterns, and media competences. The findings of this study are important for politicians, institutions, media regulators, educators, media experts, and journalists, but above all—for citizens.
