Influence of Ethical Behavior on Job Satisfaction of Members of Information System Project Team

摘要

The information system projects (ISPs) are experiencing a higher failure rate because ISP team members are having poor individual performance which result in poor ISP team performance. ISP team is failing to become high performing ISP teams. The poor ISP team performance results in ISP teams failing to meet their main objective of ensuring the success of ISPs. The poor performance results from poor job satisfaction of the members which makes the members of ISP team to have poor collaboration, teamwork, well-being, burnout, and less work engagement. The main purpose of the study was to evaluate the influence of ethical behavior on the job satisfaction of the members of ISP team. The researcher conducted a quantitative study using survey approach. The quantitative data was collected from the members of the ISP team using online structured questionnaire. The researcher performed quantitative data analysis using Smart PLS 4.0. The researcher performed partial least square-structured equation model (PLS-SEM) with path analysis technique. The results indicates ethical leadership, ethical climate, and ethical culture improves the job satisfaction of the members of ISP teams. The job satisfaction of the members of the ISP teams can be improved through ethical climate, ethical culture and ethical climate. The ethical leadership makes ISP team members to have improved ethical climate and ethical culture, and ethical climate is the driver for good ethical culture within ISP teams and among the individual members which result in ISP teams having good ethical behaviour.
