This chapter mainly introduces some basic concepts and components about evolutionary algorithms (EAs). A brief origination and history of evolutionary computation (EC)Evolutionary computation is reviewed, including some biological processes that have inspired researchers. Classic evolutionary procedures, including representation, selection, and reproduction, are described in detail.
