摘要

This chapter highlights the fundamentals of food packaging technology and different methods of packaging so as to enhance the shelf life of food products addition to that it gives an idea of understanding the links between food and packaging required for efficient storage, processing, and transportation of food. Food processing and packaging are crucial technologies to ensure how best food is processed and also fit into the suitable packaging material. These methods will minimizes the risk of microbial contamination to reduce post-harvest losses, which also describes the different types, properties, functions, and basic methods involved in it. Many of the core engineering concepts required for non-engineers, as well as some overviews of potentially useful topics including the needs for product processing and shelf life. The evolution of engineering concepts immensely based on simplicity in the process, practical implications, robustness and efficient procedures that can offer either the starting point for more convoluted analysis and design or the beginning of practical work in a factory that used processes at the ingredient level.
