Grains are an essential part of daily nutrition, and it is imperative to implement sustainable approaches that bolster their production while preserving their ease of processing. With climate change and population growth presenting significant challenges, ensuring a reliable supply of high-quality grains is more critical than ever. It can be achieved by harnessing advanced technology, optimizing farming techniques, and streamlining supply chain management. In addition, biotechnology can play a crucial role in cultivating more grains with minimal environmental impact. Integrating biotechnology with eco-friendly practices is crucial in achieving food security. This chapter provides valuable insights into the efficient use and exploration of biotechnological techniques to enhance the productivity, nutritional value, cooking quality, sensory attributes, and storage of grains and grain-based products. It highlights the impact of genetically modified enzymes and microbes in enhancing product quality while highlighting the crucial role of biotechnologists in regulating quality control and promoting sustainable production methods.
