Blending Psychological Models with Modern HCI Techniques to Develop Artificial Emotional Intelligent “Affective” Systems

摘要

Affective computing is one of the youngest fields of interdisciplinary research involving use of computer science, psychology, cognitive science to recognize, interpret, process, and simulate human emotions. Considering advancements in artificial intelligence and taking its advantages Affective Computing also known as Emotion AI has gained huge popularity over the past decade. However, the major task of affective computing systems depends on understanding human psychology behind different emotions and utilizing it in developing the systems which interact with humans and understands the current emotional status and overall emotional behavior referred to as affective event index (AEI) and emotional personality index EPI for everyone based on which the affective system works. These systems can be further enhanced to provide affective response according to the emotional state of individuals. Starting from understanding human psychology, decoding different human emotions based, and providing proper affective response, HCI plays a very crucial role. The paper investigates various types of human emotions, the sources to identify it and various HCI traditional to modern techniques which proves to be helpful to develop fruitful affective systems.
