Vesico Vaginal Fistula
摘要
A vesicovaginal fistula represents an abnormal connection between the bladder and vagina, causing continuous urinary leakage through the vaginal canal. Within developed regions, gynaecological surgery remains the most common etiological factor for vesicovaginal fistula formation. Within developing nations, vesicovaginal fistulas most frequently arise from obstructed labor and consequent pressure necrosis. Constant dribbling, wetness, and stink lead to social outcasting of patients of vesico-vaginal fistula (VVF) making their life miserable. When conservative measures prove ineffective for vesicovaginal fistula, surgery becomes the chosen course of action. Successful surgical fistula repairs vary, with rates ranging between 70% and 100%, regardless of transvaginal or transabdominal or transperitoneal approaches. Vesicovaginal fistulas (VVFs) stand out as highly distressing complication of gynaecologic and obstetric procedures. Preventive measures must encompass universal education, enhanced women’s status, and improved accessibility to medical services.
