摘要

Fungal zoonoses, caused by various fungi, are transmitted in the natural environment between vertebrate animals and humans. Understanding the disease ecology, transmission dynamics, and immunological response is integral to improving the outcome of fungal zoonoses and reducing transmission of the infection to humans. An understanding of the specific and protective humoral and cell-mediated immune responses may suggest further studies on the potential candidates of fungal vaccines. This chapter will elucidate the mechanisms behind the pathogenesis of fungal zoonoses, with insights into disease immunopathology and host responses.
