Slicing and Virtual Reconstruction Method in SolidWorks Environment

In order to reduce the amount of calculation in the process of 3D model slicing and predict and evaluate the slicing effect, the slicing method and virtual reconstruction technology of 3D solid in SolidWorks environment are proposed. The layering algorithm is based on the idea of projecting 2-D engineering drawings, and makes full use of the functions of 2-D contour extraction and section line setting in SolidWorks itself to output a series of section views for the molding equipment. 3D entity reconstruction technology completely simulates the “stack” manufacturing process, and reconstructs a series of 2D contour information into a 3D entity in SolidWorks environment, which can visually predict and evaluate the layering scheme and manufacturing effect. Two reconstruction algorithms are given for 3D motion control codes and 2D engineering drawings. The secondary development technology is used to realize the function of the algorithm, and the feasibility and effectiveness are verified by an application example. This method is not limited to SolidWorks system, but can be implemented in most 3D CAD system platform after a little modification.
