Plaintiff consignee purchased a quantity of 51,999.301 tons of lees, and the consignee insured the goods with an insurance company. Subsequently, the ship belonging to Defendant carrier carried the lees purchased by the consignee to the ports of Zhangzhou, China, and Nansha, China, respectively, at an actual unit price of USD272 per ton, plus freight. The master of the ship issued three original bills of lading, all of which stated that they were in “good apparent condition”.
