Propulsion Effectiveness Using Propeller Selection, Ducted Propellers and Tilting Mechanism in a Quadrotor Drone

摘要

The drones have been around for decades now and development is faster and faster with progression of time. From the standpoint of propulsion and thrust, the propeller selection along with the diversion of thrust provides a very high difference in the efficiency. The following paper presents simulation studies and Computational Fluid Dynamic Analysis to support the argument. The ducted propellers and the tilting of the ducts to provide agility mark a better and a controlled state of then UAV. The tilting mechanism for the UAV requires an adequate algorithms and proper soft robotics to employ it completely and in best working conditions. The results provided enough evidence in favour of the ducts for them to produce more effective and efficient flight time and flight pattern.
