A Comprehensive Analysis of the Design and Functionality of Regenerative Shock Absorbers: A Review
摘要
Regenerative shock absorber systems have emerged as a promising idea because they have the potential to collect energy that would otherwise be lost as heat in suspension vibration while simultaneously dampening vibrations caused by rough roads. When traveling on roads with uneven surfaces, the road's surface and the car's body will both vibrate due to the motion of the vehicle. Regenerative shock absorbers’ job is to capture this vibrational energy, which is being wasted as heat. In this scenario, regenerative shock absorbers are deployed in order to gather the energy and channel it either toward powering electrical gadgets or toward charging the battery of the vehicle. The regenerative shock absorbers discussed in this paper and the power produced by each suspension system will be discussed, and the various shock absorber configurations are classified, examined, listed, and discussed. It also covers the characteristics and operation of the regenerative type of shock absorber. It even covers topics related to regenerative technology used in different sectors like braking and land transportation. Several scholars addressed in their papers about a rotary type of shock absorber that employs helical gears and a pinion system some of them use a worm and worm wheel system and some of them use a ball and screw mechanism and a few others use a planetary gear system, results indicate a significant possibility for energy recovery from vibrations in automotive suspension. Additionally, the hydraulic and electrical regenerative structures function exceptionally well and have a lot of room for improvement.
