Smart Manufacturing: Issues and Challenges
摘要
Smart manufacturing is rapidly evolving technology characterizing optimal use of workforce and energy and improved manufacturing performance by utilizing interconnecting machines and tools. It is implemented by interconnection of state-of-the-art robotic technology, industrial Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data processing and artificial intelligence. Integration of artificial intelligence to smart manufacturing enables system intelligence and independently accomplish complicated tasks such as monitoring the quality of products, predictive maintenance of machines, etc. Digital twin, a virtual model for physical object, helps to attain the optimization of the entire manufacturing process. This paper discusses the present implementation status of smart manufacturing and technologies associated with it.
