Computational Tools for Genomics Data Analysis
摘要
In the field of modern biomedicine, with the rapid advancement and integration of technology, studies on omics, especially genomics are increasingly becoming prominent. This chapter provides a holistic overview of the recent developments in the field and explores the symbiotic relationship between computational tools and genomic research. In this chapter, we also discusses logistical challenges that arise with the integration of advanced computational tools in genomics, the need for robust databases, and the implications of AI-driven discoveries in genomics, providing a comprehensive understanding of both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with the technological revolution in genomics research. Besides, we also emphasize how the evolution of computational methods has paralleled, and their significant breakthroughs in genomics. The role of computational tools as well as hardware advancements in this evolution is particularly noteworthy. The increased capacity for handling large-scale data, learning from patterns, and making predictive analyses have opened new frontiers in genomic research, from understanding genetic variations to uncovering the underlying causes of diseases. The group of authors also discuss the vision toward the future, and how ongoing advancements in computational tools, particularly in AI, may continue to redefine the SOTA (state-of-the-art) approach to genomics. From personalized medicine to evolutionary studies, the potential applications of these tools are vast and varied. This chapter aims not only to provide a current snapshot of computational tools in genomics but also to inspire continued innovation and exploration in this dynamic field.
