摘要

Nutrigenomics, at the convergence of nutrition and genetics, investigates how dietary components interact with the genome to influence gene expression and human and animal health. This chapter offers a thorough examination of nutrigenomics, covering its core principles, methodologies, and applications in personalized nutrition and preventive medicine. It underscores the genetic variations affecting nutrient metabolism and absorption, alongside the molecular mechanisms through which nutrients modulate gene expression, including transcriptional regulation and epigenetic modifications. Epigenetics emerges as a pivotal mediator of these effects. Methodologies discussed encompass high-throughput genomic technologies and interdisciplinary collaborations for comprehensive data analysis. Nutrigenomics holds promise in tailoring dietary recommendations based on individual genetic profiles to optimize health outcomes and mitigate disease risk. In sum, this chapter delineates the game-changing role of nutrigenomics in advancing personalized nutrition and preventive medicine, fostering individualized approaches to wellness.
