Enhanced Growth of Single Cells of Limonium sinuatum on Medium Containing Silver Nanoparticles
摘要
Enhancing the growth and development of single cells is an important alternative in plant regeneration. Cell suspension cultures have been used by plant breeders to overcome the barriers of climate, soil conditions, large-scale cultivation, and genetic homogeneity. In this chapter, the cell suspension culture method and related knowledge including AgNPs, ethylene, and polyamines were discussed. Furthermore, the effects of AgNPs on cell proliferation, growth, and development as well as L. sinuatum shoot regeneration were also recorded. Supplementing with 1.2 mg/L AgNPs gave the highest cell proliferation, growth, and development. The most suitable time for cell collection was on the 16th day during the stationary phase. Adding 1.6 mg/L AgNPs showed the highest shoot regeneration ability with single and separate shoots which were good sources of material for micropropagation. Further analyses in this chapter lay the foundation for the use of AgNPs as an important source of materials to promote growth and development in plant regeneration, creating future prospects in the field of plant micropropagation.
