Nanobiosensors as Biomedical Diagnostic Tools

The development of new methods capable of highly sensitive detection and quantification of particular parameters has contributed significantly to the advancement of medical diagnosis. Nanobiosensors are becoming increasingly important in the field of biomedical diagnostics as a result of their high levels of sensitivity and specificity as well as their ability to perform monitoring in real time. Various types of nanobiosensors have been designed and they are capable of diagnosing a range of diseases like diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, autoimmune disorders. The purpose of this chapter is to offer a broad overview of nanobiosensors, encompassing various types and their applications in the field of medical diagnostics.
