Biotechnology for Gas Sensing
摘要
In this chapter, the main operation mechanisms of the gas-sensitive elements made on the basis of biotechnologies are briefly considered. Enzymatic gas biosensors, antibody gas biosensors, aptamer gas biosensors, molecularly imprinted polymer sensors, and receptor gas biosensors are covered. The main recognition methods of the input signal are also considered, examples of transducers are given, the advantages and disadvantages of using various biotechnologies as a part of biosensors are discussed. The possibility of new materials (such as carbon nanotubes, graphene, etc.) used in the role of transducers is highlighted separately as well. The prospective development directions of new generation sensors are considered.
