Nanotheranostics in Prostate Cancer: Current Status and Future Potential

摘要

Prostate cancer is a common and serious disease that affects many men and unfortunately leads to a high number of deaths among male cancer patients. Early detection and monitoring of prostate cancer are being improved by continuous advancements in imaging and sensing approaches. A more targeted and personalized approach to disease management requires carefully categorizing patients. Hybrid imaging techniques provide complementing structural and morphological data to enable more accurate and efficient imaging. Precision and personalization in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer could be greatly enhanced by the use of radiotracers, biomarkers, and nanoparticles in targeted imaging. By combining targeted delivery and diagnostics, nanotheranostics—which makes use of biocompatible nanoparticles—offers a viable strategy for managing cancer. These platforms offer a substantial advantage in cancer research and diagnostics due to their highly customizable molecular architectures and ability to interface with specific proteins. This chapter aims to examine the most recent functional and technological developments in prostate cancer diagnosis and therapy. The key problems with managing prostate cancer could be resolved through the implementation of these nanotheranostics advancements.
