摘要

Numerous studies set in high-income countries document the potential benefits of urban green spaces for mental health, and a growing number of related studies have been conducted in mainland China. In this chapter, we summarized the current studies examining associations between green space and mental illness, sleep or cognition-related outcomes set in mainland China. The mature and large body of research on green space and mental health in high-income countries is has not yet reached similar levels in mainland China, and we could not draw robust conclusions yet. Large-scale epidemiological studies with longitudinal design and randomized trials are still needed to determine whether the beneficial associations between green space and mental health, which were found from high-income countries can be replicated in the context of mainland China.
