Secure Data Sharing Using an Elliptic Curve Cryptography Method for Medical Mecord Transactions in Cloud Environment

摘要

The Electronic medical records in the existing hospital database contain the patient’s medication details and medical history with all the valuable medical information. Health records are prone to attract since it has patient’s medical information which in turn leads to medical crime (Ghallab et al. “Data integrity and security in distributed cloud computing—a review” Proceedings of international conference on recent trends in machine learning, IOT, smart cities and applications. Springer, Singapore, 2021). The loss of electronic health records can result in the need for incorrect medication, surgery, and high risk for patients in the medication field. Electronic Health Records (EHR) in hospitals are accessed by doctors, hospital administrators, and nurses to upload the current status of the patient information which needs proper security measures with encrypted information. To protect the medical data a cryptic key exchange protocol has been suggested that provides two or more parties to create a shared cryptographic key that can be used to encrypt to sign in to the medical data records. In the existing methods of certificate key exchange systems, it requires a trusted authority to validate the integrity of messages received to access the medical records and it is very difficult to scale to large systems. Also, the certification exchange system it requires a larger database to store the certificates and more bandwidth for signature verification. In the proposed method the authentication method requires the client and server to be pre-equipped with their own keys using asymmetric Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC). This method authenticates the medical records and protects them from medical errors through digital transactions.
