摘要

In Nuclear Reactor Design, containment is one of the most important safety systems. In case of accident involving fission product release from reactor system, it is the final barrier between radioactive fission products and the environment. Thus, it has to be designed to withstand the resulting peak pressures and temperatures expected, without losing its integrity, for the governing postulated accident conditions. To evaluate these design parameters, it is required to analyse the pressure and temperature transients following any postulated accident sequence. In-house containment safety analysis has been carried out for KKNPP reactors. Containment response studies for different accident scenarios have been accomplished with in-house computer code PACSR-LWR. The studies carried out for KKNPP envelopes various scenarios of Design Basis Accidents (DBA) and Design Extension Conditions (DEC). To accomplish these studies, KKNPP specific system modules and correlations have been incorporated in the code which includes containment spray system, Hydrogen recombiner system & thermal hydraulic models. This facilitates upgradation of in-house computer code.
