Human Factors Analysis in Occupational Accident Prevention
摘要
Human Factors Analysis (HFA) is a multidisciplinary approach that plays a pivotal role in occupational accident prevention by understanding and addressing the complex interactions between humans, technology, and the environment. By examining human behavior, cognitive processes, and physical capabilities within the context of the work environment, HFA identifies potential sources of error and helps in designing systems that mitigate risks as proactive measures. Human behavior is complex and can be influenced by various factors, making it challenging to accurately predict and prevent future accidents. Classifying and analyzing occupational accidents based on human factors is helpful in training and skill development, improvement of safety culture, identification of root causes and developing proactive approach and appropriate control measures for accident prevention. There are certain limitations of overreliance on human factors analysis as an exclusive tool for accident prevention that can be addressed by integration of HFA in the holistic safety management system.
