Earth Jurisprudence, Consciousness and Knowing Our Place: Protecting the Commons (Food, Water and Energy) Through Non-anthropocentrism and Nonviolence

The chapter addresses social and environmental justice based on celebrating, inter alia, Indigenous wisdom though a systemic relational approach. It discusses the literature on earth jurisprudence and issues of ecocide by reconsidering and redressing approaches for governing the Anthropocene that rely on state-based and market-oriented initiatives. The chapter is written in the form of a metalogue that builds on previous and current research by the first author together with a community of practice comprising the named co-authors. Together we suggest ways to govern the commons by re-framing governance, law and economics through a multispecies relational approach.
