Reliability Issues and Challenges in Biosensor Development

This chapter addresses the main issues related to reliability and challenges in the development of biosensors by the scientific community, and the limitations in going beyond the frontiers of the laboratory bench and reaching the market. We discuss the concern related to the biological recognition element, the obstacles to be overcome in the matter involving the transduction and the superficiality in the analytical evaluation of biosensors and issues related to their commercialization.
