The 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games: PyeongChang Legacy Foundation

This case study investigates the PyeongChangPyeongChang 2018 Legacy FoundationPyeongChang 2018 Legacy Foundation (PLF) (PLF), formed to manage the legacy of the 2018 Winter Olympics. PLF’s governance mode took on a public-private governance approach involving public and private collaboration, financial backing from the state, and knowledge exchange. The PLF’s legacy programs have focused on Olympic education, sport development, and legacy programs like the “Dream Program” for winter sport development worldwide. We suggest the importance of future research on the evolution of PLF’s governance model, considering contextual factors like the 2024 Youth Olympic GamesYouth Olympic Games (YOG) in GangwonGangwon.
