The 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Winter Games: Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation

This chapter presents details on the Utah Olympic Legacy FoundationUtah Olympic Legacy Foundation (UOLF) (UOLF) case and its role in managing legacies from the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake CitySalt Lake City. Using a multidimensional governance approach, we describe the public-private governance mode utilized by UOLF to oversee the Games’ venue legacies. We also detail UOLF’s sport, health, and tourism legacy initiatives. This chapter concludes by asking questions about the potential evolution of UOLF’s governance mode, especially in the context of preparing for the 2034 Winter Olympics.
