Self-Sensing Concrete
摘要
Self-sensing concrete is an innovative material designed to incorporate conductive components, such as carbon fibers, carbon nanotubes, or steel fibers, within traditional concrete mixtures. These conductive elements enable the concrete to detect changes in its own strain, stress, or damage by measuring changes in its electrical resistance. This mechanism allows for real-time monitoring of the concrete’s structural health, providing data that can be used to predict potential failures or to schedule maintenance more effectively. The self-sensing capacity is particularly valuable in severe environmental conditions where external inspection may be challenging or where concrete structures are exposed to higher risks of degradation.
