Nitrate
摘要
Nitrate (NO 3 −) is commonly used in the cement and concrete industry due to its significant effects on the hydration process of cement. Nitrates accelerate the hydration reactions by providing additional ions that can interact with cement particles, leading to faster setting times and early strength gain. This is particularly advantageous in colder environments where slower reaction rates can pose challenges to construction schedules. However, under severe environmental conditions, the presence of nitrate can also lead to increased risks of concrete degradation. The mechanisms involve the alteration of pore structures and increased susceptibility to freeze-thaw cycles and chemical attacks, potentially leading to issues like alkali-silica reactions and delayed ettringite formation.
