Iron
摘要
Iron in the context of cement and concrete refers primarily to its use as a supplementary material that can enhance various properties of these construction materials. Iron can be introduced in several forms, including as iron ore, recycled from industrial by-products, or as part of the components of steel manufacturing slag. In cement, iron acts as a fluxing agent in the kiln during the production of clinker, reducing the sintering temperature and aiding the formation of alite and belite, the primary strength-giving phases of cement. In concrete, iron and steel aggregates are used to increase density, magnetic properties, or radiation-shielding capabilities.
