Cement Paste
摘要
Cement paste is the mixture of Portland cement and water that forms the binding matrix within concrete. When water is added to cement, hydration reactions begin, leading to the formation of calcium-silicate-hydrate (C-S-H) and calcium hydroxide, among other compounds. These reactions are exothermic and contribute to the initial and long-term strength development of concrete. The quality and proportion of cement paste significantly influence the workability, durability, and mechanical properties of concrete. It serves as the critical agent that binds the aggregates (sand and gravel) and other components into a unified composite material.
