Blended Cement Concrete
摘要
Blended cement concrete (BCC) incorporates one or more supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) such as fly ash, slag, and silica fume into the traditional Portland cement mix to enhance its properties and sustainability. This type of concrete is crucial for modern construction as it reduces the environmental impact associated with cement production—specifically, the emissions of carbon dioxide. Blended cement improves the overall performance of concrete, enhancing durability, workability, and resistance to various environmental stressors such as chemicals, moisture, and temperature fluctuations. The use of SCMs in blended cement concrete not only utilizes industrial by-products beneficially, reducing waste, but also improves the material properties of concrete, making it more suitable for challenging environments and contributing to longer service lives of structures.
