Introduction

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in nonequilibrium phase transitions that are outside the framework of conventional equilibrium physics. To progress our understanding, in this thesis, we investigate two kinds of nonequilibrium phase transitions induced by ac and dc forces using a superconducting vortex system with random pinning. In this chapter, we review the basics of nonequilibrium phase transitions and the superconducting vortex system.
