Development of an Adoption Framework for Precision Livestock Farming (PLF): A Case in a Developing Economy
摘要
Precision livestock farming (PLF) is acclaimed as a technology that offers substantial opportunities to achieve a more holistic, evidence-based approach to monitoring and managing the health and welfare of swine animals, including productivity in real-time. It has a great potential that helps livestock farmers monitor their animals and move toward sustainable agriculture. Therefore, the adoption framework for PLF technology for SIDC backyard raisers has been developed as part of the overall objective, together with other frameworks and technology architecture. The framework will serve as a general guideline on adopting PLF technology for hog raisers in the Province of Batangas to monitor the health and welfare of pigs for innovation. Technology adoption will play a vital role in improving production efficiency on the farm. Collaboration and support to integration programs from the Government, NGOs, Academe, and Cooperatives will make the PLF project sustainable, feasible, and affordable.
